Increasing knowledge of the American Standard ASME BPVC Section V

UAB “Iremas” employees, together with UAB “Metesta” laboratory specialists, who support Iremas laboratory, were given another training course on the requirements of the American standard ASME BPVC Section V – testing, analysis and quality control of works, by a representative of the German management systems and personnel certification institution “TUV Thüringen”.
The standard is well known to all Iremas specialists working in the Metals Testing Laboratory, so this was an opportunity to refresh their existing knowledge. For other colleagues, including those in the Metesta laboratory, this was a completely new experience.
A year ago, Iremas specialists, including T. Kačinskas, travelled to Germany where they visited “TUV Thüringen” and took the NDT Level 3 exams in order to acquire the necessary competences and to be able to certify their own and other Lithuanian laboratories’ (currently Metesta) specialists who will actually be attached to the newly installed pipelines and will be able to carry out the NDT Level II tests. The successful ongoing cooperation with “TUV Thüringen” sets the stage for the fulfilment of ASME’s written practice requirements.
“This training is another important step towards the successful implementation of the Petrofac International project at the ORLEN Lietuva plant,” says T. Kačinskas.
