“Little wheels” to the Netherlands

We are stepping into a new and still little-known field for us – serial production.

In the last days of July, the first sets of manufactured and assembled “little wheels” were sent from our factory to the facility in the Netherlands.

“The diminutive form for “little wheels” is used figuratively, as one ‘wheel’ weighs 170 kg, and the total set of 75 units will have to withstand a weight of 1,500 tons (or 1,500,000 kilograms)!” The order is distinguished from all previous products by one criterion – the “wheels” are identical: all the parts that make up their set are exactly the same throughout the entire order – 6 sets or 450 pieces of parts”, says our project manager Mindaugas Alaburda about the first serial production order.

In order to optimally plan the work, we had to make a number of corrections in the technological process and change the sequence of operations and divide the tasks in such a way that the quantity of workpieces/parts produced was the same as required for the next operation and ensured a continuous production process.

“The results are pleasing, the customer is also satisfied, so we are eagerly awaiting a decision on a new, even bigger and slightly more complex project – the production of even 2360 units of identical “wheels”, revealed M. Alaburda.
