IREMAS, PROVIDING ENGINEERING SERVICES, WILL INVEST IN DEVELOPMENT: PRIORITY – FOREIGN MARKETS
UAB Iremas, which belongs to the concern Achemos grupė and provides engineering services, is planning investments up to one million euros this year. Increasing the efficiency of operations and development in foreign markets remain among the highest priorities of the company.
“We plan to invest up to one million euros in the development and renewal of bases this year. We plan to acquire new CNC machining centers. This will allow you to work with larger products. That is how we want to strengthen this area of activity. We plan to upgrade the production base, implement internal changes so that we can work more efficiently, ”said the company’s CEO Edmundas Damaševičius.
More efficient work, according to the head of the company, allowed to maintain a similar level of income last year as in 2019, but increased profitability by 30 percent.
“Exports remain one of the priority areas. In recent years, we have consistently developed export-oriented production and services in new markets. In three years, export services grew by 40 percent. It is gratifying that foreign partners are increasingly appreciating Lithuanian specialists. This year, too, we started construction work on one of Finland’s cogeneration power plants, ”said E. Damaševičius.
According to the head of the company, the impact of the pandemic is still being felt due to limited travel between the countries, and a slowdown in partners’ investments is noticeable.
“The situation in COVID-19 has not changed radically. Maybe we receive fewer inquiries from new and existing customers. At such an indefinite time, customers weigh everything more carefully before making decisions. Companies feel that when they have suspended their investments, they are relocating them to a later period. The situation of the pandemic is different in different countries, so at least for the time being the movement of labor for new projects abroad is restricted, ”said E. Damaševičius
The head of the company added that due to the pandemic, additional costs are incurred for personnel testing and self-isolation of employees working abroad. A pandemic also makes it harder to make new contacts.
“Due to the pandemic, many business exhibitions and meetings in the industrial sector have been moved to the virtual space. This is a new challenge that we need to adapt to. It is becoming more difficult to make new acquaintances and find new partners and customers, ”said the head of the company.
UAB Iremas is one of the largest companies providing engineering services in Lithuania. The company has almost 600 employees and its divisions are located in Jonava, Kaunas, Panevėžys and Klaipėda.
