Metal production, products and processing
UAB „IREMAS“ – is one of the biggest metal processing companies in Lithuania. Its main activities are metal products and processing, manufacturing, erection, repair, design and maintenance services. Metal production and processing departments are located in Jonava, Panevezys and Klaipeda. Professional team and wide geographic arrangement ensure fast and quality service for clients and partners.
UAB Iremas, which provides engineering services, has acquired a new computerized metal processing machine - a CNC center for vertical processing. This is another step in the company's expansion of metalworking automation processes. The investment of up to 100,000 euros is focused on products for foreign and internal markets.
The new Hyundai Wia 400 vertical milling center will allow more efficient and high-quality machining work.
“We hope that this investment will expand the range of our products and allow us to organize production processes more efficiently by using different types of processing centers. By further increasing the number of CNC machining centers in the company, we are focusing on foreign markets and products developed for them, ”said Edmundas Damaševičius, General Director of Iremas.
The head of the company says that export services have grown by 40% in the last three years. This was influenced by the company's long-term strategy.
This is the sixth computerized metalworking machine in the company. They will be used to process small-sized products. Planning the development, the company will acquire another large (6 meters long) metal processing center this year.
UAB Iremas, which belongs to the Achema Group, is one of the largest companies providing engineering services in Lithuania. The company has almost 600 employees and its divisions are located in Jonava, Kaunas, Panevėžys and Klaipėda.
UAB Iremas, which belongs to the concern Achemos grupė and provides engineering services, is planning investments up to one million euros this year. Increasing operational efficiency and development in foreign markets remain among the company's highest priorities.
"This year we plan to invest up to one million euros in development and renewal of bases. We plan to acquire new CNC machining centers. This will allow us to work with larger products. That is how we want to strengthen this area of activity. We plan to upgrade the production base, implement internal changes so that we can work more efficiently, ” said the company's director Edmundas Damaševičius.
More efficient work, according to the head of the company, last year allowed to maintain a similar level of income as in 2019, but increased profitability by 30 percent.
"Exports remain one of the priority areas. In recent years, we have carried out consistent development of export-oriented production and services in new markets. In three years, export services grew by 40 percent. It is gratifying that foreign partners increasingly value Lithuanian specialists. This is also the year we started construction works in one of Finland's cogeneration power plants, ”said E. Damaševičius.
According to the head of the company, the impact of the pandemic is still being felt due to limited travel between countries, and a slowdown in partners' investments is noticeable.
"The COVID-19 situation did not bring any drastic changes. Maybe we receive a little less inquiries from new and existing customers. At such an indefinite time, customers weigh everything more carefully before making decisions. It feels like companies have suspended their investments and are relocating them to a later period. The situation of the pandemic is different in different countries, so at least for the time being the movement of labor for new projects abroad is restricted, ” said E. Damaševičius
The head of the company added that the pandemic has to incur additional costs for personnel testing, self-isolation of employees working in foreign countries. A pandemic also makes it difficult to make new contacts.
“Due to the pandemic, many business exhibitions and meetings in the industrial sector have been moved to the virtual space. This is a new challenge that we need to adapt to. It is becoming more difficult to make new acquaintances, find new partners and customers, ”said the head of the company.
UAB Iremas is one of the largest companies providing engineering services in Lithuania. The company has almost 600 employees and its divisions are located in Jonava, Kaunas, Panevėžys and Klaipėda.
UAB Iremas Branch Projektu centras together with the partners AF-Consult Oy designed the Kaunas cogeneration power plant.
The consequences of a pandemic lead not only to constraints but also to business opportunities. In Salo, Finland, Lithuanians were invited to help complete the project due to delays in the construction of a waste-to-energy cogeneration plant. Representatives of the engineering services company Iremas say that it took just a few days to decide on one of the biggest projects this year.
